Neither of us is a big proponent of posting pictures of food on Facebook and Instagram, but food is such a big part of life in Spain, that we don’t feel right leaving the country without writing about it. So screw it; here’s a post about food.

Bull run of San Sebastian de los Reyes
Let me start off by saying that we did not run with the bulls. Though, in hindsight I wish we had.
San Sebastián de los Reyes is a suburb of Madrid that hosts a weeklong bullfighting festival in August. While Pamplona holds the more famous running of the bulls, bull running also takes place in San Sebastián de los Reyes.
La Tomatina!!!
That’s it. The rest of our trip is downhill from here. La Tomatina was definitely the highlight of our trip (year? life?), and I can’t see how anything else will come close to providing me so much joy.
Ok, what am I talking about? La Tomatina is the biggest food fight in the world. Each year, on the last Wednesday of August, 20,000 people pack into the small town of Bunol (population 9,000) and throw tomatoes at each other for an hour.
La Feria di Malaga
If Barcelona didn’t make us feel old, Malaga did. We happened to be in this southern Spanish town, which is the second oldest city in Spain, for the Feria of Malaga.
Blabla Success!
Blablacar is a mix between Uber and hitchhiking. People who are planning to drive from Point A to Point B, post open seats that are available in their car on blablacar.com, along with a price per seat. It helps drivers recoup money spent on gas, and provides a cheaper method for travelers to reach their destinations.
Playing Game of Thrones in Seville
After the hustle and bustle (and humidity) of Barcelona, Seville was a welcome dose of sophistication and affordable food. Andalucia’s capital city is a vibrant town, full of culture and history. Apparently founded by Hercules, it became the major port of Spain after Columbus sailed to America. Columbus’s remains now rest in The Seville Cathedral, which is the 3rd largest in the world. Interestingly, the Dominican Republic also has a set of bones, which it claims are those of the explorer.
